With the current term due to expire in November this year, the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has nominated former body President Lawrence Mulindwa for presidency at the Council for East and Central African Football (CECAFA).
This was revealed by the federation during their weekly press conference at the FUFA house in Mengo – Kampala, after current FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo signed an official communication that was sent to all federations’ presidents of the CECAFA member Association.
“Whereas the current Executive Committee has made tremendous efforts, it is the belief of FUFA that Mr. Lawrence Mulindwa, considering his vast experience, will refocus and re-energize our region. His works at FUFA have made our federation and Uganda Cranes the leading sports brand. We believe this leadership could benefit the region,” reads part of the letter to CECAFA member association presidents.
It should be remembered that Mulindwa served as FUFA president for two terms between 2005 and 2013.
