The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) has continued to write new history in the records of Ugandan football. The development follows the remarkable launching of the National Under-17 league by the federation.
The incredible news was broken by federation President Eng. Moses Magogo during last week’s press conference at the body’s base located at FUFA house in Mengo, Kampala.
“In line with our development goals, the Federation is committed towards the growth of youth football, and this is done by patience. Our Cameroon 2019 campaign will be fruitful once the respective youth structures are properly put in place. The league shall thus be called the FUFA Juniors league. We have given priority to the each of the 16 premier sides to organize their respective junior teams,” reads Magogo’s statement on the federation’s website.
The federation’s Secretary Ali Mwebe was also available to elucidate on the matter; “The format of play will comprise of 16teams that shall be divided into two groups of 8teams each.”
He however said that the 16premier league teams that were given first priority will have to confirm their participation by 25th March 2015 and in case they fail, chance will be given to the big league teams.
