After posting a scanned copy of his HIV results, Frank Gashumba came under fire on his Facebook wall. The city socialite and self-styled motivational speaker was bombarded with ridicule from all angles for posting HIV test results that were one year old.
Following the social media outburst, the Mali group boss came clean and issued a statement.
“Look here, I just wanted people out there to go for testing. It is a good thing to go for HIV testing,” Frank Gashumba explained referring to the post he had made on Facebook.
He then set the record straight, saying that he carries out regular HIV checks and encouraged everyone to do the same. “It’s not true that I Last checked my status a year ago. I actually test after every four months. I remember when I posted those result we were doing a country wide campaign through sensitizing people to know their HIV status. So it’s no true that I last checked in July last year. These are things that we must always put right so as not to confuse the people who follow us,” Gashumba added.
Gashumba flashed out HIV test results for a test that he took last year. After making the post on Facebook, he got a backlash for not taking any test in the recent past yet he claims to be a role model. It is on his backdrop that the ‘Sisimuka’ boss woke up and issued a statement.
