Cranes players that did not travel to West Africa for Uganda’s tie against Ghana in Group E AFCON qualifiers continued to train yesterday under the charges “Video Anyau”.
The players trained in the morning and evening. The 2-hour training session was aimed at maintaining the fitness levels of the players and keeping them together as they wait for the return of the rest team from West Africa. Uganda Cranes will play Guinea at home four days after the Ghana clash, on Wednesday 10th September.
Shortly after the resumption of the evening and second training session of the day, it started to rain however the players on the pitch under Coach Frank Anyau continued with the drills. Goal keeping coach Stephen Kigundu is also in camp to help the technical team on the training task.
“I am delighted with the way these players are responding. Their attitude is great and we have had two successful training sessions today-in the morning and evening. Even Brian Majwega’s injury is healing progressively,” Anyau said shortly after the training.
“We are now waiting for Geoffrey Massa who is still South Africa to join the players here in camp and we believe the fitness levels will be matching with the rest of the team that will come from Ghana,” Frank Anyau remarked.
