Four lucky boda boda riders receive new motorbikes as ‘Wangula nga Kapo’ promo comes to an end

Vivo Energy Uganda, the marketer and distributor of Shell fuels and products has handed over four brand new motorbikes to four lucky winners in the ‘Wangula nga Kapo’ promotion.

This promotion has been part of the Shell Advance ‘Kapo W’ekibuga’ campaign that was launched in December 2020 to recognize, appreciate and reward boda boda riders for the role they play in the community.

The campaign has seen over 15,000 boda riders rewarded with prizes of up to UGX 300 million shillings.

Speaking at the final handover event, Mr. Gilbert Assi, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Uganda said, “Over the last 12 weeks, we have been shining a light on boda boda riders. The role that boda riders play in our communities is understated and we are happy to have used this campaign platform to appreciate and reward them for being the true heroes of our cities.”

A total of 15 motorbikes were given away to boda riders across Uganda in the ‘Wangula Nga Kapo’ promotion. Other prizes included fuel, Shell Advance engine oil, t-Shirts, reflector Jackets and Tank Head covers.

One of the winners, Vicent Bukenya who operates from Kiito boda stage in Banda could not hide his joy upon receiving his motorbike. ‘’Thanks to this promotion, I am now a mega kapo. This new bike will supplement my existing source of income and help me provide even better for my family,” he said.

The ‘Wangula Nga Kapo’ promotion was executed across more than 190 participating outlets, among which were 73 Shell fuel stations where riders can access a broad range of other amazing dedicated offers.

“The boda rider is our esteemed customer, so we are constantly improving our offering to ensure they get a satisfying experience and feel like a ‘Kapo’ with every visit to our Shell fuel stations. Our offering to the boda riders currently includes; our popular high performance Motor bike engine oil – Shell Advance, dedicated fuel pumps, dedicated boda service points with dedicated motorbike mechanics, access to our Shell customer loyalty program among other offers,” said Moses Kebba, Marketing Manager, Vivo Energy Uganda.

Mr. Assi expressed his appreciation for all the boda riders that took part in the ‘Wangula Nga Kapo’ promotion and highlighted that there was lots more to come.

‘’We are happy with the overwhelming number of boda riders that participated in this campaign. For those that were not fortunate enough to win, I can assure you that we have lots more in store for you over the course of the next year. I encourage all Boda riders out there to visit their nearest Shell fuel station to enjoy the dedicated rider offers we have available for them.” Mr. Assi concluded.
