Henry Ssali, the former Sqoop Boss is back again to revolutionize the media industry.

Last year, he quit his job at Daily Monitor and told people he would be back soon with a bang. That bang has turned out to be a free newspaper named “Matooke Republic” that will be out weekly.

The model has been called disruptive according to many, and other similar newspapers have been seen frightened.

In one of the newsrooms along Jinja road, the editors were heard telling writers; “if you don’t work big, you are all going home. The industry just got changed.”

Ssali has also worked on other successful ventures in the past. He’s one of the founders of Asylum Bar in Kiwatule. He’s also produced one of Uganda’s most successful local movies; “Bullion Van”.

Many believe, he has just come to take the print media to another level.

Here are some photos of the “Matooke Republic” newspaper.
