Former Presidential Press Secretary Tamale Mirundi Dies at 60

Tamale Mirundi, a well-known figure in Ugandan politics and former Presidential Press Secretary, has passed away at the age of 60.

Mirundi, who had been serving as a Senior Presidential Advisor on Media, died on Tuesday night at Kisubi Hospital, located off Entebbe Road. His death was confirmed by family members.

Mirundi was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of Kisubi Hospital about a month ago due to an undisclosed illness.

During his time in the hospital, doctors had been treating him for complications involving his lungs. Over the past few weeks, they had been removing fluid from his lungs, but his condition worsened when blood was found in his lungs on Tuesday night. Despite the efforts of the medical team, Mirundi was pronounced dead at around 11:45 pm.

His passing has been met with sorrow and condolences from across the nation. The Minister for Luwero Triangle and Rwenzori Region expressed sympathy to Mirundi’s family, acknowledging the significant loss to the country.

The family of Joseph Tamale Mirundi, Senior Presidential Advisor on Media and former Presidential Press Secretary, is in our thoughts and condolences during this difficult time. His passing is a significant loss, and his contributions to the field of media and public service will be remembered and honored.
