A few days ago, leading opposition party – FDC asked their supporters to boycott all musicians that showed support for NRM and President Museveni, and also abstain from work on every Thursday of the week.

This has been received with mixed reactions with many people arguing that it doesn’t depict the democracy that the  party has been preaching overtime.

One of the former presidential candidates Elton John Mabirizi has also came out publicly to defy boycotting of  Tubonga Nawe musicians saying that they were exercising their democratic right to choose a leader of their choice.

Mabirizi said its not proper and therefore he will not boycott them but engage them to realise that supporting Museveni was not the best decision.

However, he promised his support to the decision of staying home on Thursday to show solidarity with Dr.Kiiza Besigye.
