Former Miss Uganda, Quiin Abenakyo, has recently achieved a significant milestone in her academic journey by graduating with a master’s degree from the KAIST Graduate School of Global Digital Innovation (GDI) in South Korea.
Abenakyo, known for her role as a Ugandan model and beauty pageant titleholder, notably clinched the Miss Uganda 2018 crown.
Her victory propelled her onto the global stage, representing Uganda at the prestigious Miss World 2018 competition held in China. At the event, she garnered further acclaim by being crowned Miss World Africa 2018.
Notably, Abenakyo’s performance at the contest saw her excel in the head-to-head challenge segment, ultimately securing a spot in the Top 5, a remarkable feat that made her the first Ugandan to achieve such a high placement in the annual pageant.
Throughout her reign as Miss Uganda, Abenakyo demonstrated a strong commitment to advocating for the wellbeing of the girl child, particularly addressing the pressing issue of teenage pregnancy.
Under the segment ‘‘Beauty with a Purpose,’’ she fervently declared war on this societal challenge, using her platform to raise awareness and advocate for change.
