Belinda Nansasi, who was crowned the overall winner of the Miss Curvy pageant in 2019, has opened up about her struggles and appealed to the public for help.
Nansasi revealed that despite her win, she did not receive the benefits promised by the organizers, including the grand prize of a vehicle.
In a heartfelt interview with a local television station, she disclosed the challenges she has faced since the pageant.
“I took photos with the car, and they told me I would receive it the following morning, but they never gave it to me,” she explained.

Nansasi added that she is now living a difficult life, earning a living by washing clothes for her neighbors.
She expressed the physical toll of the work and her urgent need for assistance.
“I am living hand to mouth. I wash my neighbour’s clothes but need a washing machine because the work is exhausting. Handwashing, lifting, and drying clothes is backbreaking. If someone could help me buy a washing machine or a dryer, it would be very helpful,” she pleaded.
The Miss Curvy pageant, held once in 2019, faced heavy backlash from women’s rights groups for allegedly objectifying women.
The criticism may have contributed to its discontinuation, as the event has not been organized again since its debut.
