Koroga Food Festival

By Our Reporter

Koroga Festival returned for it’s third edition as food lovers dined to the best of meals prepared by master chefs at The Gardens, Najjeera on Saturday.

Dubbed the “Pro Edition”, the event was graced by seasoned chefs who gathered together to bring food enthusiasts an exciting afternoon cookout.

Chefs like Tuti, Justine, Nelly, Mujabi were behind the stoves impressing the crowds with their signature dishes that proved their culinary skills were truly unmatched with Senior Chef Mark Kaheru, Joint Managing Partner at My Food Network as host at the event.

Starting from midday, the venue was filled with sights of cooking stoves loaded with scrumptious looking dishes and a sweet aroma in the air. Foods like chicken and goats meat were on the menu, prepared using ingredients like yoghurt and Tusker Lite beer.

“Today, we pulled off an amazing fine dining experience. We enjoy coming out and bringing food lovers an all-you-can-eat fun experience, it is always a good time,” said Kaheru.

The festival’s food gangs and diners mixed, mingled and later ate food to their hearts content in addition to the fun games and merrymaking as the cooking merriments went on. Revelers were later treated to a silent disco experience with the Almost Famous DJs.

The Koroga Festival is a popular annual event that has its roots in Kenya. Its name is derived from the Swahili word koroga which means to mix or to stir, and is an apt representation of all that happened on a day centered around food and drink.
