Local filmmaker George Stanley Nsmaba aka Nes is finally reaping from his hard work. Nes is currently reveling in the unprecedented success of his short film—Crafts ‘The Value Of Life’—which has been nominated for Best Narative Short Film at the Silicon Valley African Film Festival in California, USA. Nes will face off with 19 other filmmakers for the award.
The Silicon Valley African Film Festival (SVAFF), slated for 16th to 18th October, is the only film festival in California that is exclusively focused on films made by African filmmakers and, crucially, provides audiences with exquisite lenses to the real Africa.
Meanwhile, Crafts ‘The Value Of Life’ had been previously selected for screening at the International Peace And Film Festival in Florida and FilmAid Film Festival in Nairobi.
Crafts ‘The Value Of Life’ is a touching story about a young man, Shafi, who is dumped by his lover, Pesh, over his ‘childish’ ways. However, he later discovers his real purpose in life when he subsequently puts a smile on the face of a homeless kid after gifting them with crafts that led to the end of his relationship.
