Musician Shafiq Jjingo, popularly known as Fik Gaza, has been granted cash bail of Shs 1 million by court.

His sureties were each bonded at Shs 10 million, non-cash. As part of the bail conditions, Fik Gaza was also required to deposit his passport with the court.
The case has been adjourned to May 12, 2025.
Fik Gaza appeared in court today alongside three co-accused — Najib Magoola, David Mutuba alias Marvin Gaza, and Charles Zziwa also known as Mzungu. The group was arrested last Thursday during a police operation and detained at Katwe Police Station.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango, the suspects were initially scheduled to appear in court last Friday, but the case took a new turn leading to today’s court appearance.
Onyango revealed that the arrests followed a targeted police operation in response to a surge in robbery cases in and around Katwe Division. The operation was conducted at Fik Gaza’s residence, which police allege was being used to harbour some of the city’s most wanted criminals.
During the raid, police recovered several exhibits including pangas, military-style clothing, and suspected narcotics. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
