Uganda’s sports regulatory body, the National Council of Sports (NCS) has revealed that fifty sports governing bodies in the country are operating illegally including the Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA).

The regulatory body said that only two federations out of the total fifty two (52) federations are operating legally according to its new regulations. NCS announced that the only two legal bodies are swimming and kickboxing and has therefore urged the rest to re-register with fulfillment of all it new regulations. The council also said that this is part of their mission to end all wrangles in sporting activities that have seen different federations clash over the same sport.

“Failing to re-register in the six months availed to them by the NCS, they rendered themselves non-existent and thus cease to exist”, NCS communicated on Friday.

Other federations like Federation of Uganda Basketball Association (FUBA), Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) among many others are all operating illicitly. National council of sports also said that it will take charge of all elections that will be organized with in the different federations in the future.
