By Lee Osbourne

Gospel singer Exodus recently shared a story about his journey in the music industry revealing how it wasn’t easy for him.

While appearing on local television, the Igwe hitmaker explained the hardships he went through when he was still a teenager and how he later managed to get a musical breakthrough.

“My mom passed away when I was 10 years old and I left home, went to the streets following the way my stepmom was torturing me. I went to school wearing torn clothes and shoes since I was paying tuition fees myself right away from Primary Seven till when I joined Kyambogo university and later dropped out because I couldn’t afford fees anymore,” said Exodus.

He added that he later joined Pastor Robert Kayanja’s Rubaga Miracle Centre where he started his singing career indicating that the first time he held a microphone to sing, he lost words while on stage in front of the audience.

“I later decided to pray and fast for 40 days on water seeking for God’s guidance and that’s when God gave me my first song titled Ganja man that rocked airwaves, since then my life has never been the same,” added Exodus.

He advised fellow youth not to lose hope but keep their self esteem high and trust in God.
