As you usher in the new year, I would suggest you make a few resolutions to drive you into the forth coming year. However, resolutions don’t have to be limited to your personal life, or work. You can extend your resolutions to your wardrobe.
Yes, you can decide to set resolutions for your wardrobe. This means get rid of all those tasteless buggy jeans you have kept for long, or that neon printed jumpsuit, and embrace a new style conscious and tasteful fashion sense.
In order to do this, you will need to set a few guide lines. But you don’t have to look far. Gloria Haguma brings you tips on how to know what’s in and what’s out, fashion wise, so as to make clear resolutions for your wardrobe.
1. Thou shall not wear any more neon in 2014. They came, we loved them and stood out, when we wore or accessorized with a neon item in 2013. But that’s in the past. And we believe this is one trend that has to die with the past year.
2. Thou shall stock up more on some leather. Yes, leather will still be trending even into the new year. Whether its a pencil skirt, or a little black leather dress, you are going to need some leather item in your closet.
3. You will also need some vintage items in your closet next year. Whether its accessories, or clothing items. You need some retro fashion in your life.
4. For the guys, you need to let go of those boring old jeans and invest a few shilling sin some chinos. Chinos are versatile, as they can pull off a formal look, and a smart casual look, depending on your fashion sense.
5. In 2014, you are also going to stock up on accessories. Ladies and gentlemen, accessories are going to still be big in 2014. Ladies, get your hands on as much statement jewelry as you can; chokers, cocktail rings, brooches, box clutches etc.
For the guys, invest in a statement watch, or a cute leather bracelet, bow ties, chains and many others. Trust me, you are going to need then in order to elevate your look.
6. This one particularly goes to the guys. Let go of those ill-fitting suits! We were able to bear with this terrible look in 2013, but we don’t hope to do so in the coming year. Get a well-fitting tailored suit. It not only gives you are polished look, but also gets the ladies attention, trust me!
Frohes neues Jahr!
