Our style role crash this week is modelling agent Joram Muzira Job. Do we seem to be the only ones that have noticed how much fun he has with his outfits? Whether it’s a formal look, or smart casual, he always adds an element of fun and also quite daring, either by adding a stylish trench coat over dress pants or employing the African print in his look.
How would you define your style?
My style is timeless, vintage, high end and I always let my personal style translate and reflect my personality and passion for fashion!
Tell us something we don’t know about your wardrobe?
I am dedicated to standing out when it comes to fashion so I must say I am a chameleon of sorts when it comes to my wardrobe. Very daring so should I say.
What is your wardrobe must-have?
Stylish high fashion colored fitting blazers, lots of moccasins, African Print stylish pieces (I must say I own these in lots of variations which is almost becoming my signature look of sorts), stylish pants & jeans, nice fitting suits (since I do lots of official meetings and events), men purses & bags, slim ties, bow ties, lots of colored shirts and T-shirts not forgetting trench coats (trend is very vintage so I play around with them in various colors).
How many trench coats do you own?
You must be like the 100th person to ask me this question now. Honestly, I guess I am even loosing track of the number of trench coats I own because I have them in all the colors you can imagine and think of!
What are some of your fashion No-No’s?
Un-fitting clothes (Suits, shirts, pants name it all) suck!! Then people who over color- block as well end up looking like clowns of sorts!
How much effort do you put in choosing your outfit?
I find it effortless to pick an outfit for myself because before I select an outfit, I first envision how glamorous and classy it will look on me. The fact that I know my body type very well…it makes it so much easy for me.
What is your style secret? One that works for you alone?
I dress to own the moment!! I am very bold and my style secret would be mixing classic elements with un expected twists to create a sense of surprise!
What are some of the irritating fashion blunders you notice with Kampala women?
Women that bleach themselves all in the name of fashion!! Gosh, it sucks!! Then Women that over accessories themselves and end up looking like Christmas trees of sorts. Also, those women who do lots of various colors in their hair irritate me a lot! Plus women who don’t know their body shapes and think everything trendy looks good on them are a major turn off!
Which celebrity’s wardrobe would you wish to get your styling skills on, and give a total revamp?
No offence but that would be… Maurice Kirya!
What is your emergency outfit?
Any colored blazer, an African Print Bowtie, a nice pair of jeans, a shirt and a pair of moccasins. Any day it works for me and it’s so much effortless to put this together.
With the ever changing trends in fashion, how easy is it for your wardrobe to catch up, with this?
Trends always come and go and trust me they are so many trends that come and in just a blink of an eye, they are gone! But personally am not into trends that much, so I stick to clothes that are timeless like I said in the beginning. It saves me much time to upgrade my wardrobe!
Any fashion tips you would like to share?
- Be bold, go bright!
- Don’t be drawn into chasing fads or fashion. Find a formula that works for you.
- The sharpest man in a room is always the one with the best attitude.
- Get to know your body type before selecting an outfit!
- My ultimate tip would be to mix shades of the same color. It always looks chic, effortless and sophisticated!
Trench coats vs. extended shirt. Your pick?
I would definitely go for trench coats any season since they are timeless and stylish!
