Uganda Under-23 national team captain, Farouk Miya has managed to make it to Standard Liege’s squad ahead of the 2016/2017 season in Belgium’s topflight league.
The 19-year old Uganda Cranes’ attacking midfielder was named on the 32-man squad for the Belgian giants who have been impressed by the youngster’s magical foots since joining them in January, 2016.
Miya joined Standard Liege from two time Uganda Premier League (UPL) champions, Vipers Sports Club on a 6-month loan in a deal worth $400,000 that also doubled as a trial period for the fast rising young talent.
He was then in May, 2016 awarded with an improved three year contract that will keep him at the club until June 2019.
