The partnership will see Face TV provide a platform to promote the nominated local videos in the music awards.

Speaking at a press conference where the partnership was made known, Face TV ED Pejay Boaz encouraged local artistes to embrace the awards.

“No other award organizers have ever come to Uganda. Let’s take this opportunity and make the most of it,” Pejay noted.

“Face TV airs in 14 African countries and will promote Ugandan artistes nominated in AFRIMA. We shall also coordinate with other TV stations across the region to promote Ugandan videos,” he added.

The All Africa Music Awards opened entries for musicians to submit their music on May 18th and will close on July 20th. The nominees will then be announced on August 4th.

The AFRIMA team was excited to be in the country and pledged support to the growth of of the local music industry.

“It’s exciting to know that Uganda’s entertainment industry is vibrant. We are here because this is a market that can’t be ignored. The music industry is important to the growth of the economy of the East African region,” AFRIMA project director Adnenrele Niyi noted.

The AFRIMA award ceremony will be hosted in Nigeria in November this year.
