By James Robert Kayindi

Uganda’s U-23 side, the Kobs were yesterday held to a one-all draw (1-1) by Uganda Premier League side Express Football Club at Muteesa II memorial stadium, Wankulukuku.

Express took the lead through Eric ‘Bucha’ Sebuguzi who converted a penalty when he sent Goalkeeper, James Alitho in the opposite direction. The 12-yard spot kick followed a handball by Shafiq Bakiki in the forbidden area.

However, a late header from senior defender Kassagga Richard saved the day for the Kobs who were trailing by a goal.

According to the federation’s website, “Both coaches of Express FC Wasswa Bossa and Kobs coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic fielded two different teams that played 60 minutes each but each period going for 30 minutes.”

This was the second buildup game for the Kobs as they continue to prepare for the 3rd round return leg against Egypt young Pharoahs in the CAF U-23 Africa Championship Qualifiers that is due Saturday, 1st August, 2015 at Mandela National Stadium. It should be noted that the game was shifted from Nakivubo War Memorial Stadium due to a social event called “Ekiggunda Kyo Mwaka” by 97.3 Radio Simba on the 2nd of August.
