Express Football Club has turned down an offer to participate in Kampala Capital City Authority FC’s inaugural invitational preseason tournament. The Red Eagles had been among the three teams that were invited for the inaugural Phillip Omondi pre-season competition that is slated for the 6-7th August weekend.
The Wasswa Bbosa-coached side has now been replaced by another topflight team, Soana Football Club. “It’s a great opportunity for me and my team, I have some players on trial and it’s during the tournament that I plan to assess them before making a final decision,” Charles Ayiekho, the Soana head tactician is quoted in the KCCA FC website.
The other two teams invited are new promoted Uganda Premier League side, Proline FC and Kajjansi based team Lweza FC. The draws for the tournament remain scheduled for Friday 5th August.
