SC Villa’s biggest local rivals, Express FC have picked a leaf from them to rejuvenate their club. This came after the domestic football giants, Express sports club revealed new plans for the team ahead of the new season of 2014/15.
“All the plans for a new competitive Express FC have been finalized. We are targeting improved players’ welfare and remuneration, revamping the big fan base of the club and a great brand of football,” club chairman, Francis Ntalazi revealed.

The club’s corporate wing of fans raised about Ushs 40million at the dinner. Speakers on the night kept on preaching and emphasizing unity among team members which will help build the popularity and fan base of the club like the late 90’s.
“There are seasonal tickets for the fans available. We are also selling club merchandise as a way of increasing revenue avenues as well as widening the fans base across the country,” Ntalazi further stressed on the night. Express, who finished 7th last season and survived relegation a couple of seasons ago are set to face Police at Wankulukuku in their league opener according to the FUFA super league fixtures.
The domestic giants have recruited massively ahead of the forth coming season which starts on 22 August 2014. Despite losing skipper Allan Kyambadde to Vipers, the club has recruited Mamba FC striker Eric ‘Bucha’ Ssebuguzi, former SCVU striker, Noah Ssemakula former Victors, SC Villa and Vipers playmaker, Simon Sserunkuma among others. Sports Club Villa new executive members led by Eng. Ben Missagga (President) attended the dinner as club star player, Willy Kavuma recommitted his teammates’ vows to lift the Express FC legacy.
