Music industry insiders have revealed that singer Jackie Chandiru has been at crossroads before succumbing to drug addiction.
According to our sources, the pressure of celebrity lifestyle became too difficult for her to handle coupled with high expectations, insincere company and marital problems. The cocktail of problems led to the drug addiction as an escape route from her troubles. UBC presenter breaks down the tales below.
“I last interviewed this talented diva in 2015 on Jam101 and off air, she told me, Calvin to be honest I feel like quitting music because I am not getting the support I deserve. Its not paying off and some times the negative media from tabloids and some presenters is just too much, I wish I could just leave this country for good”
I could see the pain in her eyes though the best I could say at that time was, “girl you are exceptionally talented. You can still make it big! Out of this, I realised that Jackie issues are not so different from every one else though its worse with celebrities because very few have genuine close friends who look at them beyond the music and fame.
I think in life, we need a best friend, some one who believes in you and reminds you of how great you are even when you’re giving up on your self.
On 2nd January 2016,s he sent me a message telling me that she was organising a comeback concert before end of this year and wanted me to share that info on TV, this was after she has just released two New video’s ie singanalimusajja and someother video.
Well, I think in life every one is battling some thing, so never be quick to judge..we all need a friend. Get well soon Jackie Chandiru and my God heal u faster May be ,we shall get to witness that concert. Its never too late “
