This Friday, Evoke Night is doing what it does best; give a platform for young talent to express themselves and live out their dreams.
The MTN Warehouse will host the second episode of Evoke Night season three themed “Evoke Midnight drum”. There will be performances from the Evoke band, H2C, Archers dance crew, DJ Ssese, DJ Mackus, DJ Irakoze, Mugaba, Owana Julz and plenty more.
Aside from performances, guests will experience an explosive competition of Spoken word, rap and beatboxing artists. Imagine rap battles, linguistic verbal showdowns and a boom box where a mouth should be.
Here are the contestants:
SPOKEN WORD
Carolyne AKA Afroetry
Carolyne has been around the block, the poetry block. Name it, she has done it. She’s bringing word play, rhythm, phenomenal storytelling and real heartbeats to the Evoke stage.
Meddie
“Mujje Tutontome”… That’s what Meddie chants to anyone that’s never experienced good poetry. He’s bringing rhymes, powerful imagery and edutainment at Evoke Night.
Isabirye “Mitch” Godfrey
He has grown a firm repute for using neighborhood tales in his pieces. Times when our mamas sang us to sleep but now we stressed out. Experience the art of spoken word like it has never been dispelled before, live on the Evoke stage.
RAP
David Taurus
Taurus is a bedroom rapper. Mad talent. Mad spit game. No experience. No problem. He plans to make the “Evoke Night: Midnight Drum” experience his first break by kicking the ball out the park.
Larry
From dropping the mic at campus shows to performing at the Clan meeting, Larry has tasted the waters of the rap game and keeps coming back for more.
Nickarma Nox “Nick”
First runner up in the MTN Cypher 2019. That should seal the deal right there.
BEATBOX
Grace Mugume
You know a boom box right? His mouth is a replica of one. Prepare to be wowed.
