Dembe FM radio presenter and MC, Evelyn Mic, has raised a proposal to honor Uganda’s iconic Mayanja family by renaming roads in Kampala after the three living brothers—Jose Chameleone, Weasel Manizo, and Pallaso.

Taking to her X (formerly Twitter) handle, Evelyn Mic expressed admiration for the musical family’s long-standing contribution to the Ugandan entertainment industry.
“We need three roads in Kampala and we rename them after the remaining 3 Mayanja family brothers, we may never get a family like this again,” she wrote.
The Mayanja family has played a significant role in shaping Uganda’s music scene over the years.
Sadly, two of the brothers, AK47 and Humphrey Mayanja, have since passed away, leaving behind a lasting legacy. The remaining trio—Chameleone, Weasel, and Pallaso—continue to make waves both locally and internationally.
This suggestion comes on the heels of another major show of support for the Mayanja name. Western Uganda star Ray G recently launched a UGX 1 billion campaign aimed at raising funds to honor Chameleone for his immense contribution to the music industry.
