Samuel Eto’o is set to miss Cameroon’s vital World Cup clash with Croatia on Wednesday due to a knee injury.
The Indomnitable Lions’ talisman took to Twitter on Sunday to reveal the news which will come as a major blow to coach Volker Finke.
His side lost their opening Group A game 1-0 to Mexico on Friday and need a positive result against the Croatians to stand a realistic chance of progressing to the knockout stages.
But they will have to do it without Eto’o, who said on the social media site: “The doctors have confirmed I will probably not be able to play the match vs Croatia on Wed, June 18th due to an injury on my knee causing me pain.”
