The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) senior challenge cup 2015 will be hosted by Ethiopia.

The annual football tournament was meant to be hosted by Rwanda but the 2016 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) hosting nation pulled out citing different reasons.

With the competition set for November-December 2015, the Ethiopian football federation president, Juneydi Basha has confirmed his nation as the new hosts for the event through his official twitter handle.

“Ethiopia will host the 2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup in November. Let’s all join hands to make it a success. Congratulations!” Basha tweeted.

It should be noted that last year’s edition was not played after Ethiopia, the would-be hosts of the event pulled out at the eleventh hour.

Uganda are the record winners of the annual tournament with 13 titles to their name, followed by the current champions Kenya with 6 titles.
