Fun in the sun and sand is all that will take place in Entebbe this weekend after several beaches in the area had been closed down following a nasty incident that led to over 40 deaths.

After the Dec 26 tragic beach deaths were cleared and explained, Entebbe RDC Ian Kyeyune has given beaches the go-ahead to host partiers at their various beaches to celebrate the New Year.

Although Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) is still investigating criminal negligence offences against beach managers of the 10 entertainment places where revellers drowned, the beaches have been opened up again for business.

The affected beaches were Aero beach owned by Cornelius Kodet, Lido beach which is owned by Muwanguzi and Sports beach owned by John Saunas among others. They were sealed off by Police about four days ago. Please exercise extra caution as you enjoy life at the beach.
