Ghetto Gladiator Bobi Wine is one of the most respected Ugandan musicians and businessmen.
The paralegal who has an eye on a parliamentary seat soon was one of the artistes who performed at StarBoss Big Eye’s “Nkuziniremu-Self Contained” concert on Saturday. The concert took place at hotel La Grande in Bwaise.
When he hit the stage with the full backing of his Firebase army, Bobi Wine did exactly what he had come to do — entertain.
With a few songs done, the crowd was ecstatic. It is at this moment that Bobi paused on the music (he was singing with a live band – Solid Band that plays at La Grande) and talked about the man of the day.
According to Bobi, he is one of the artistes that never gave up on StarBoss. He said that it gives him great pleasure to be performing at a concert where he is the main act.
Bobi narrated how he first met Professor at a rap competition in Bwaise. Although he didn’t win, Bobi said that StarBoss had a lot of charisma and potential and he told him just that. Years later, he said that he didn’t know where the guy who won that competition was but he knew that his boy, StarBoss Big Eye was doing great things.
“I first met StarBoss Big Eye here in Bwaise. I have been blessed to work with him. First worked with him at Eden Pub at a rap competition. I was one of the judges that day. He came second in rap competitions and he was very sad. I told him to work hard, never give up and what is his, will always come to him. As they say, the rest is history. If you have a dream, just know that everything is possible. I am glad to perform at his show,”Bobi Wine remarked.
After this special moment, the music was released in full force. Bobi was joined by Nubian Li who sang two songs before they bowed out.
