Emirates’ passengers in Europe, the Middle East and North America can now enjoy more convenient connections to West Asia as the airline increased frequencies to Dhaka and Kolkata last week.
Effective 29th March, Emirates weekly flights to Dhaka and Kolkata increased to 21 and 13 respectively. The airline also added capacity on its Kolkata route, upgrading the aircraft to a Boeing 777-200, and is introducing its renowned First Class cabin to passengers travelling to the Indian hub.
The additional flights offer convenient connections with Emirates’ West Asia and Indian Ocean (WA&IO) network from 37 European, 17 Middle Eastern and 10 American destinations. Emirates has been flying to WA&IO since 1985. Karachi, Delhi and Mumbai were among the airline’s first destinations when it began operations. Today, Emirates serves 19 cities in WA&IO with 321 flights per week, offering the best connectivity in the region.

While on board, Emirates passengers experience a wide range of products and services with over 2,000 free channels of films including Bollywood and Bangladeshi movies, TV shows, music, games and podcasts through ice, the airline’s multi-award winning in-flight entertainment system.
Emirates’ customers enjoy cuisine prepared by gourmet chefs and world-famous service from the airline’s multi-national cabin crew, as well as a generous baggage allowances with 40kg in Business Class and 30kg in Economy Class.
The increased flights also bring additional cargo capacity, enhancing trade possibilities between the two cities and the rest of the globe. The Boeing 777-200 servicing Kolkata adds more than 17 tonnes of cargo belly-hold capacity, while the Boeing 777-300ER operating the additional Dhaka flights adds over 15 tonnes.
Operating on Wednesdays, Emirates flight EK 572 departs Dubai International Airport at 13:00 hours and arrives in Kolkata at 19.15 hours. The return flight EK 573 will depart at 20:30 hours and arrives in Dubai at 00:05 hours.
Emirates flight EK 586 departs Dubai at 10:30 hrs and arrives in Dhaka at 17:20hrs while EK 587 will departs HazratShahjalal International Airport, Dhaka at 19:10hrs and reach Dubai at 22:10hrs.
