The fight for slots at the finals in the fourth coming Africa cup of nations ends today in all the different groups of the qualification campaign.

Ten teams around the continent have already qualified with the Equatorial Guinea being top of the list after they were named the host nation of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations that kicks off on 17th January and will run until 8th February. The naming of Equatorial Guinea as the hosts of the tournament came after Morocco withdrew from hosting the event due to Ebola threats.

The “Indomitable lions” of Cameroon, the “Desert Foxes” of Algeria, the Bafana Bafana of South Africa, Tunisia, Cape Verde, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Zambia are the teams that have already earned their slots at Equatorial Guinea come January 2015.

In group E which comprises teams; Ghana, Uganda, Guinea and Togo who lie on the table in that order at 8points, 7points (goal difference 1), 7points (goal difference 0), and 6points respectively, the tension is really high among all the nations as none of them is yet to earn its qualification.

Ghana’s Black Stars host the Sparrow Hawks of Togo who suffered a humiliating defeat at their home ground in Lome after Guinea thumped them 4-1. Ghana, however, also lost during their visit to Kampala, Uganda after the Cranes condemned them to a 1-0 defeat at Namboole, thanks to Savio Kabugo’s header in the 8th minute.

Meanwhile, the Uganda Cranes take on Guinea after both teams won over the weekend vivifying their chances to qualify for AFCON 2015. Guinea is out for revenge following the 2-0 defeat by Cranes during their visit to Namboole. However the Cranes are also ready in full combat to take them on.
