Two first half goals from Bakri Almadina and Kenyan striker Allan Wanga were enough to sink Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) yesterday evening in a club friendly against Sudanese side El Merriekh in Khartoum.
The defending champions of the Uganda Premier League (UPL) are in preparations for the second round of the league as well as the 2015 CAF champions league all due February.
An inspiring Micheal Birungi came off the bench during the first half replacing Yasin Mugume to score the only goal for the Kasasiro boys in the second half. Former KCCA goalkeeper in the names of Jamal Salim once again stood tall to stop his former employers.
“There are lots of positives to pick from the game. We managed an away goal and the overall performance wasn’t bad though we need to iron a few things here and there,” in-charge coach John Luyinda told the club’s official website.
The industrious Michael Birungi was voted man of the match.
