Uganda for the second time this year lost to Egypt when the Pharaohs turned out 2-0 winners in a friendly international played out at Air Defence Stadium in Cairo, Monday.

Goals in either half from Zamalek duo of Ahmed Eid and Hazem Emam allowed hosts’ coach Bob Bradley to guage his players ahead of their World Cup qualifying play-off against Ghana mid this month.

The first leg between the Black Stars of Ghana and the Pharaohs of Egypt will be played on Tuesday 15th October at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.

Egypt were without Al-Ahly and foreign-based internationals while Coach Micho Sredojevic’s Uganda were also without their senior stars as the Serb focused on a team that will turn out for Cecafa due December and Africa Nations Championship (Chan) in South Africa, January.

The two sides first faced off in August as Uganda built-up for their World Cup qualifying tie against Senegal, with the Pharaohs thrashing Cranes 3-0.

The Uganda Cranes next proceed to Amman, Jordan where they will play Iraq on Wednesday as they continue preps for the local regional tourney in Nairobi.
