The Homes Expo 2025, held over the weekend in Kampala, was not only a showcase of housing innovations and real estate opportunities but also the stage for the highly anticipated launch of “Real Estate. Rethinking Africa’s Housing Future”, the maiden book by Dr. Edwin Musiime, Chairman of the Homes Expo.
In his book, Dr. Musiime underscores the transformative power of housing in Africa’s development story. He writes, “Above all, housing is the foundation of dignity. It is where families dream, raise children, and build lives with meaning. Without decent housing, societies cannot flourish.” The launch was received with enthusiasm by industry players, many hailing the book as a timely contribution to conversations on sustainable housing and inclusive urban growth.
The Expo itself, themed “Access to Quality Living and a Pathway to a Green Future”, brought together leaders, innovators, and stakeholders to shape the direction of Uganda’s housing and real estate sector.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Musiime commended all participants and partners, noting that both the Expo and the book align with his vision of advancing housing solutions across Africa.
Another key highlight of the Expo was the official representation of the President of Uganda by Hon. Minister Judith, underscoring the government’s commitment to supporting innovation and investment in the housing industry.
The Minister of Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Judith Nabakooba, while presenting President Museveni’s speech, stated, “Our vision is to build communities where every Ugandan can live with dignity, security, and opportunity.”
The National Housing and Construction Company (NHCC) CEO, Kenneth Kaijuka also commended the expo organisers and emphasized that National Housing remains committed to delivering quality housing solutions to as many Ugandans as possible.
The expo was officially sponsored by National Housing and Construction Company, Golf Residence by Fahkruddin, Plascon, Kafkas, River Group Agrica, and Chint alongside its brand partner, Oppein.
