Singer Eddy Yawe has spoken out after a photo of his nephew, James Churchill Ssentamu, with President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni caused a stir online.

The young man is the son of Chairman Nyanzi and a relative of opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, popularly known as Bobi Wine.
Their family has been openly critical of President Museveni’s government for years.

“You will forgive us. He is our child, and we can’t behead him because of that. We should just sit him down and talk to him,” Eddy Yawe said in response to the incident.
The photo, which has been widely shared on social media, shows Churchill appearing cheerful while rubbing shoulders with President Museveni.
Many supporters of the opposition expressed disappointment, saying it contradicts the family’s political stance.
However, Yawe called for understanding, saying it is important to guide the youth instead of judging them harshly.
“We should talk to him, not condemn him. He is still young,” Yawe added.
As the debate continues, the family has not released an official statement, but Yawe’s remarks suggest they are handling the matter privately and with care.
