The president of the Uganda National Musicians Federation, UNMF, Eddy Kenzo has revealed how one of their resolutions is to engage government to prolong performance hours to at least 2am.

It should be noted that the government a few years ago came up with a directive stopping all concert performances at approximately 12am.
This has however been hindering entertainers as well as revellers who felt that they weren’t getting enough of their money’s worth. According to Kenzo they want an increment to at least 2am.
He said that the midnight cap limits performers and all their acts. This is because people arrive late at the venue sometimes due to traffic jam and other unavoidable circumstances.
“One of the things we are engaging the government on is to see that they increase performance hours from midnight to at least 2am. People always arrive late to shows sometimes due to traffic jam and other circumstances. When people start coming at 8-10pm, it means an artist has 2 hours to perform which is less. Therefore if we get a 2 hour increment, it will really be good for us,” he said.
The Stamina singer added that so far talks are progressing positively adding that President Museveni is also preparing something special in regards to the industry.
The Big Talent boss additionally said that once this is achieved, it will eliminate the grievances of both fans and artists alike.
