Popular Ugandan musician Eddy Kenzo has pledged to find ways to compensate the people of Arua City following an incident where his absence at a scheduled performance led to unrest.
The chaos occurred after the artist did not show up to perform, which resulted in protests and vandalism by disappointed fans.
According to Kenzo, he was never booked by the event organizers to perform at the show, despite being advertised.
He explained that the event host had borrowed money from various individuals and entities with a promise that Kenzo would perform, but no official agreement had been made between him and the organizers.
In response to the situation, Kenzo expressed his commitment to making amends with the affected community.
“I will go back; I have to compensate the people of Arua with everything I can,” he stated while on a TV interview.
The unrest caused damage to property, and Kenzo’s promise to return and compensate the community aims to restore peace and resolve the issue caused by the miscommunication.
