By Davis Kyeswa: Uganda’s biggest music export and only B.E.T Award winner Edrisa Musuuza also known by his stage name Eddy Kenzo attracted countless numbers last weekend at University Inn in Mbarara.
In the build up to the Eddy Kenzo Festival, jubilation went to Mbarara after traversing multiple regions all over the country where he is set to conclude with the main event in Kampala at Kololo Airstrip with “The Eddy Kenzo Festival’, this November.
The event started with big drive through activations in the city of Mbarara and subsequently a press conference to address the media on what to expect there.
Born in Masaka and bred in Kampala, Kenzo brought out all the energy on stage as he performed song by song, from ‘yannimba’ to ‘mumpoowe’ his latest release, stricly accompanied by a live band.
The turn up was really massive, he blew up the venue.
The Eddy Kenzo festival was set to be staged by the stamina hitmaker years back but was intercepted and halted by the lockdown that came along with the deadly (COVID-19).
Kenzo now has his eyes on the prize as every factor seems to show only green lights to the first, biggest celebration of a single artiste in the country.
The latter has gathered bigger and wilder crowds in other African countries all over the continent and now hopes to bring the magic back home.
