Award-winning Ugandan singer Eddy Kenzo has expressed his belief that language is not a barrier for a song to achieve international success.

During a recent TikTok live session, the multi-international-award-winning artist said, “I don’t believe so because some of the biggest songs ever around the world are not in English. Songs like Gangnam Style, Despacito, among others, are all not English language related.”

Kenzo, known for his global hit Sitya Loss, emphasized that music is a universal language that connects people beyond words.

His statement comes as an encouragement to African and non-English speaking artists to keep pushing their music to international platforms regardless of the language they use.

Eddy Kenzo continues to raise Uganda’s flag high with his international music career, inspiring a new generation of musicians.
