Last weekend was not a good one for music promoter Ronnie. The promoter was thumped by singer Eddy Kenzo after he switched off his microphone at the Kuzaala Kujaganya concert that took place at Freedom city. Police has been involved and Eddy could be arrested for assault.
It all started when Kenzo was called onto the stage to sing two songs. Kenzo did his part and then went on to do a third song. Because the promoter was time barred and several other musicians had been lined up to perform, Kenzo’s microphone was switched off.
The “Sitya Loss” singer then jumped off the stage and pounced onto promoter Ronnie raining several punches on him. The helpless promoter fell to the ground with no one to help him only to be trampled on by Kenzo’s crew.
Ronnie has opened up an assault case against the singer who is now being hunted by police.
It should be noted that Kenzo has had a violent past. The former street kid from Masaka turned international star once rained punches on Dembe FM’s Kasuku for asking him a question that he didn’t like at press conference. You can read more about that here.
