Musician Eddy Kenzo has come under fire from some music fans for shunning local gigs. Following his international breakthrough, Kenzo has stopped performing at local bars to the dismay of some of his fans. This move has been interpreted by many as “growing wings”.
While deliberating on his decision, the “Sitya Loss” hit maker explained that such gigs should be left for upcoming artistes so that they can also grow their careers.
“I no longer perform at local bars because I would be blocking an opportunity for some upcoming artiste. If I take the money from such gigs, what will an upcoming artiste use to also make a video and develop their career?” He quizzed.
Meanwhile, Kenzo has lately been spending most of his time abroad performing for his fans across the globe. One of the highlights of his travels being a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to perform at the opening and cosing ceremonies of Africa’s most prestigious football tournament, the Africa Cup of Nations.
