Musician Eddy Kenzo, who was recently appointed the ambassador of the new pay TV provider, Azam TV, has abandoned his Sitya loss kids and moved on to enjoy his newly found success. The singer, who used the kids in his Jambole and Sitya Loss videos and also went ahead to feature them at several of his concerts, has been accused to failing to pay close to 7,000,000shs that the kids are demanding from him.
It has been discovered that the four boys and one girl barely have anything for dinner apart from dry cassava and water as Kenzo enjoys all the money that they have made for him.
The group of kids who have devoted a lot of time helping Kenzo grow to fame have decided to take things further if he doesn’t pay them 7,000,000shs. The five kids; Fred Tumwesigye who is 10, Patricia Nabakooza who is 8 years, Bashir Lubega who is 11, Alex Sempijja who is 13 years and Isaac Tumusiime, 11 who are now tired of living in abject poverty in their single roomed house in Makindye have been pushed against the wall and vowed to take matters a step further if the singer doesn’t pay them.
According to their caretaker, who spoke to a local tabloid, the kids who changed from being referred to as Ghetto Kids (a name given to them by Kenzo) to the Triplets foundation, only get between 20,000shs to 50,000shs every time they do a show with the singer as transport fare. The caretaker says that they have never travelled abroad or even gotten any significant help from Kenzo.
We couldn’t get in touch with Kenzo for a comment as he is away on tour in Australia.
We will keep you posted.
