Eddy Kenzo has withdrawn from the public debate he initially proposed with fellow artist Azawi.

The debate, which Kenzo suggested during a recent media interview, was intended to address lingering misconceptions and create an open platform for dialogue between the two celebrated musicians.
Azawi responded positively to Kenzo’s invitation, expressing gratitude and a willingness to engage. However, she proposed that the debate be held in the ghettos — a symbolic location reflecting both artists’ humble beginnings and the struggles they overcame to reach stardom.
Despite the anticipation surrounding the potential exchange, Kenzo has since had a change of heart. While appearing on NBS After 5, the singer clarified that he is no longer interested in going forward with the debate.
“I’m no longer interested in the debate, and I’m not here to challenge Azawi,” Kenzo stated. “I love her, and I’m genuinely happy for her. I just wanted to clarify on what the federation has done.”
Kenzo’s statement suggests a shift from confrontation to reconciliation, emphasizing his respect for Azawi and a desire to focus on broader industry matters.
