In a recent YouTube interview, Eddy Kenzo, the President of the Ugandan National Musicians Federation, expressed his support for Gravity Omutujju’s proposal urging Bobi Wine to donate a portion of his extensive land at One Love Beach Busabala for the construction of a hospital.
During the interview, Kenzo highlighted Bobi Wine’s public statements expressing his fondness for hospitals, stating, “Bobi said that he likes hospitals, and we too, we like them. So, if he can give us at least an acre from his huge piece of land, we shall also contribute. What Gravity Omutujju said is the reality; he was concerned after Bobi Wine’s endless blame to us for not helping people.”
The endorsement comes after Gravity Omutujju initiated a verbal dispute with Bobi Wine earlier this week, following the latter’s criticism of the government’s Ugx. 13 Billion stimulus funds support for the musicians’ federation.
In a gesture seemingly aimed at making a point, Gravity Omutujju delivered building materials, including sand and cement, to Bobi Wine’s One Love Beach Busabala on Wednesday. This move served as a mock fulfillment of his promise to support a hospital project at Bobi’s beach.
The dispute between the artists has brought attention to the ongoing challenges within the music industry, particularly regarding financial support from the government.
The call for Bobi Wine to contribute part of his land for a hospital further emphasizes the artists’ desire to make a positive impact on the community and address the healthcare needs of the people.
