Musician Eddy Kenzo has apologized to Ugandans and fans following the fight that he started at a press conference, at Laftaz lounge, in Kampala yesterday. The musician who physically attacked a Nation Media journalist named Kasuku has asked for forgiveness from Ugandans and fans world over.
“I lived on the street for many years and people used to fight each other to survive. I never fought anyone. I even never fought in school, you can ask any of the people that I grew up with. I have not fought in 15 years. I am sorry for this and I ask Ugandans, Africa and fans world over to forgive me,” Kenzo stated live on NTV Uganda’s The Beat show.
The singer who won an Australian award last weekend said that he has never been violent, he only responded the way he did yesterday at the press conference because he was provoked. “Ask any of my ex-girlfriends, you know them, I have never beaten anyone of them. Ask my baby momma, I have not beaten her. I am not a violent person,” he said.
The singer who is booked in several countries around the world till December, thanks to his latest popularity, said that he would never get violent again. He also asked the youth to forgive those who hurt them and never attack anyone like he did at the press conference yesterday.
Asked whether he would apologize to Kasuku, the ‘Sitya Loss’ singer said that the two have heard their own personal issues for years. “Kasuku has been defaming me for two years. He asked for 500,000shs to promote my music some time back after my successful show and I told him that I don’t have money. From that day, he has hated me and promised to bring me down. I will not apologize to him.”
About his issues with Professor Big Eye, the Jambole singer said that they have never been in a gay relationship and that they are friends contrary to reports that have been circulating in the media. He said that Professor Big Eye left Big talent crew (managed by Eddy Kenzo) to start his own big music crew because he had grown into an independent star. “The same goes for Gravity Omutujju,” Kenzo said.
