Eddy Kenzo opened up about the reasons behind his decision to leave Firebase Crew, the camp where his music career began. The Uganda National Musicians Federation (UNMF) President explained that the main reason for his departure was a growing sense of frustration with Bobi Wine, who he claims was copying his songs.
Kenzo revealed that the tipping point came after the success of his song “Yanimba,” which he recorded with Mikie Wine.
According to Kenzo, Bobi Wine took a liking to the song and shortly after went to the studio to record “Promise,” a track that he believes bears a striking resemblance to his own hit.

The situation worsened when Kenzo released the popular track “Sonyiwa Muno.” Soon after, Bobi Wine dropped another song titled “Wesotinge,” which Kenzo felt had a similar rhythm to his own work. After these two instances, Kenzo decided that it was time to move on.
“I realized it was no longer just a coincidence. It was clear to me that I needed to make a change,” Kenzo explained.
