After months since he informally departed from Mpaka Records, Ugandan singer Dre Cali has been spotted in Toronto, Canada.
In March 2022, Dre Cali was reported to have flown out to Canada amid lawsuits from his former management, Wyse Technologies Limited, which be claimed to be having an active contract with him as a music brand.
Attention was later drawn by the Mpaka Records boss Wycliffe Tugume a.k.a Ykee Benda, who confirmed that Dre Cali had also quit the record label, though informally.
Ykee Benda cried foul of the “Ekifuba” singer not acting professional as he seemed to be.
He also decried Dre Cali’s wife and mother for learning and hiding his heartless move of illegally quitting Mpaka Records without considering of the company’s generous investments in his talent.
Since then, there has been countless of mixed reactions from the media and public concerning Dre Cali’s saga until now that we expect a twist in the story.
According to a picture shared as a reply to Ykee Benda’s pinned post on his Twitter handle by a one Burk Holder, Dre Cali appears having some good vibes with his other four friends in Toronto Canada.
In response, Ykee Benda wished Dre Cali the very best in his endeavors.
“Wishing him the very best🙏🏻♥️,” Ykee Benda tweeted.
Dre Cali, was officially signed to Mpaka Records in 2019.
Under his reign at the Muyenga-based record label, he released songs like; “Ebisooka N’ebisembayo”, “Ekifuba”, “Best Thing”, “Singa Manyi” among others that had elevated his caliber in Uganda’s entertainment business.
