Uganda’s representative in the Big Brother hotshots house, Esther Akankwasa has said that music doctor, Jose Chameleone, is her favourite Ugandan singer. Esther made the comment when she was engaged in a music discussion with Rwanda’s Arthur Nkusi in the Big Brother house.
“Chameleone is my favourite musician in Uganda. I don’t think there is anyone like him, the guy can smoke and drink like hell and do all sorts of things, but he has never gone off key while on stage. He is always on point,” Esther praised the Wale Wale singer.
It is at this point that her fellow housemate and comedian Arthur added his voice to the discussion saying that Chameleone is a special singer.
“I interviewed Chameleoene twice on my radio show. I didn’t want the interviews to end. He has a great voice and he is a good man. At one point he would sing for me in studio while the music was playing and as soon as we got on air, he would do also sing for the listeners,” said the Kigali born Radio presenter.
Arthur who also has Uganda roots given that his mother, Harriet Kibuuka, is Ugandan, said that he comes to Uganda quite often and loves several of our musicians. Among his favourite musicians is Bebe Cool, Chameleone and Maurice Kirya. He also said that he loves Bobi Wine’s music in a special way.
“I only listen to Bobi Wine when I want to listen to a song and understand a story behind it and laugh out loud. He is very funny with his lyrics yet so entertaining,” Arthur added.
