Model and fashionista Doreen Kabareebe is set to introduce her new fashion brand called ‘Dora’s’ at the e-fashion week. She is among the two Ugandans (Maarq Luoua and Doreen) designers who will be show casing in Nairobi in March next year.

Dora’s is a Fashion Brand where they design outfits based on someone’s body structure. They believe all women are beautiful.
At Dora’s one can find various fashion brands including those from upcoming fashion designers – everything from high fashion, African, street wear to sports wear and lingerie for women.
Doreen said as Ugandans, there are many advantages of supporting local clothing brands.
“Showing your support for these brands can give them an advantage in the competitive growing fashion industry. With all of the existing household fashion brands and fashion designers in Uganda, it is becoming increasingly difficult for the upcoming fashion designers to compete in the market, The reason why upcoming designers need you and your support,” Doreen said.
The Fashionista said it is tough adding that emerging designers lack platform or enough resources to take them beyond.
She called on the general public that if they can’t buy at the moment, let them show how much they love what they are doing by sharing their work.
She said it is important for us (Ugandans) to support young designers who are revolutionizing the industry and pushing boundaries with their original creations.
The mission of Dora’s is to profitably grow their business by understanding customer’s needs, focusing on offering superior design, quality and value to its customers.
The team also focuses on bringing you outfits from the different upcoming designers in Uganda to support young, upcoming designers from Uganda and to provide a location where customers can receive personalized shopping services.
Dora works like a marketplace offering aspiring Ugandan fashion designers a digital platform, independent of the commerce of the big fashion houses. Orders are sent directly to the designer and any questions about garments are answered by the fashion designer.
Dora’s Story
Dora’s is a privately owned brand operated by CEO Doreen Kabareebe drawing inspiration from FashionNova. The name DORA is the short form of Doreen, The name Dora’s brings back memories of her late Father because he used to call her Dora.
“This is a Fashion Brand where we design outfits based on someone’s body structure. We go by the saying, “We believe all women are beautiful, provided you comply to what suits your body”, Doreen said.
Many Women in the daily rush and struggle with various commitments lack choices when buying clothes. Therefore Dora’s fashion experts offer free advise for all occasions.
After realising that there are so many young Fashion Creatives out there that needed a platform to be recognised, Doreen Kabareebe decided to collaborate with them through Photo shoots and promoting them on her social media pages. Some of these include Fashion Designers, Makeup Artists, Hair Stylits and Photographers.
The challenge for any young Ugandan Fashion Designer is finding effective ways of getting their brands and their clothes out into the marketplace and connecting with customers.
