Musician Bebe Cool has asked organisers of all local music awards to never nominate him again. This follows the controversy that ensued when he dominated the recently concluded HiPipo Music awards.
It was alleged that he has a hand in the awards, and therefore had undeservedly won some of the awards. This did not sit well with the “Byebyo” singer who has now made a radical decision to distance himself from all local awards.
“I have decided to officially ask all organising committees of any music competition/awards in Uganda to exclude my name in any nomination in Uganda.Let me concentrate on being appreciated beyond my borders rather than home because it is the way of a GOOD Ugandan to fail a fellow achieving UGANDAN both locally and in the diaspora.” He said.
“I promise I will raise the pride of all my supporters even more these coming years because i don’t sing for awards but people,” he added.
